Microsoft is Buying Yahoo?

I’m either late to the party, or it really doesn’t matter. Are you a news junkie? If you are accustomed to getting your daily 5,000 forms of e-mail, fax, RSS, telephone, television and other forms of news; then you know what the title of this post means.

So you say, Sam… You’re late to the party, Yahoo said yes, no or too low… It doesn’t really matter either way. “Resistance is Futile.” (Sorry I harken back to my days of Star Trek and the Borg/Microsoft.)

Does that news really affect you? Probably not. If this doesn’t affect you, then other news probably won’t affect you either. We all have 1,440 minutes in everyday (that’s also 86,400 seconds in the day). Don’t waste them. Focus on the activities that will give you the most future value.

Will Microsoft prevail? Will some other newsgroup buy Yahoo? We shall see.

Don’t waste time,
Sam Carrara

There is More to Life Than Google, Yahoo or Microsoft Traffic

Are you depending on Google, Yahoo or Microsoft for your search traffic? How much money and time are you willing to spend to get a good top 20 (top 10 is better and more expensive) natural search listing for your preferred terms. (Not for “Bathing Chipmunks” or “Cross Stitch Patterns”, unless that’s your niche.)

It’s even more expensive if you want to go the paid route or PPC (Price Per Click). You can be successful at PPC, but you need a little cash and a sales page that converts. I’ll cover PPC more in another post.

Go to this site to find a plethora of Alternative Search Engines to be listed on:
http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/top_100_alt_search_engines_april07.php

You could rank better in these small ponds, save time and money. Stop lining the pockets of Microsoft, Yahoo and Google for your traffic. More for later…

Be Alternative,
Sam Carrara

p.s. Save PPC dollars, advertise on this blog for $5,000 per month (125×125 graphic). I thought I’d try it out.
